Lizzie, Preterhumans

A small victory

It's seems that I might be a bit rubbish at remembering to update my journal like I should. I honestly thought that I had remembered to update this on Thursday before I started the moving process. It seems, however, that I forgot. This is, somehow, not surprising, knowing me as I do.

I finished Verdant: The Preterhumans Book 2 on the 31st and got it sent off to my prereaders that same day. I'm hoping to have it back from at least one of them by tomorrow or Thursday, so that I can do what edits may prove necessary and get it sent off to Carady and Denise by next week.

I also took a brief moment yesterday at lunch to scribble out part of an opening scene for Ash: The Preterhumans Book 3. I really actually wanted to take a break from writing for a bit, but I seem to be unable. That's fine as well, though. I'll just do scribbling on Ash and a few various fanfiction that have been plaguing me, until October when I pick back up in earnest.

On the moving front, D. Marie and I are completely in our new place, but we still have quite a way to go towards being completely settled. In fact, her room is still virtually awash with boxes. She can't even get her futon out yet. It's been tons of fun.

On the reading front, I bought and completely read Sherrilyn Kenyon's Acheron today. I picked it up as soon as the bookstore opened this morning, got home with it around 10:30, and read straight through till 4:30, when I finished. I actually forgot to eat lunch, which I guess says something about how into it I was. No spoilers from me, but I will say that I was right on my guess for the heroine... and hot damn, I can't wait for the Jaden saga to start. And it was nice seeing my two favorite characters, Zarek and Nick, back being all badass again. And I ♥ Apollymi. She's definitely my kind of goddess: take no prisoners. (And she is the source of my online alter ego's name. I'm even more proud of it now.)

And now it's back to unpacking and perhaps dinner.
